Lt Col Sazali bin Sukardi (Retired) is the Senior Vice President of Strategic Research, CyberSecurity Malaysia. He holds Master of
Science in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London, Master of Arts in Defence Studies from King’s College,
University of London, Post Graduate Diploma in System Analysis from Universiti Teknologi MARA, and Bachelor of Science in Civil
Engineering from University of Hartford, Connecticut, USA. He was also a graduate from the Joint Services Command and Staff College, Shrivenham, United Kingdom. His current post at CyberSecurity Malaysia deals with all matters pertaining to cyber security strategic
research as well as exploration of new cyber security initiatives and policies. He has been actively participating at both national and international events that include representing Malaysian at the Society for the Policing of Cyberspace (POLCYB), the Council for Security Cooperation in Asia Pacific (CSCAP), ASEAN and United Nations. Currently, he is a part-time lecturer at Universiti Kebangsaan
Malaysia and HELP University in MSc Cyber Security, and a guest lecturer at the Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College. In addition, he is involved in various collaborative programs with several local universities and government agencies as an industrial panel and advisor.
He used to be a part-time lecturer at the Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College under Executive Program by National Defense University of Malaysia (2013-2015), and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in MSc Information Security (2009). He was also the Leading Co-Chair of the Council for Security Cooperation in Asia Pacific Study Group on Cyber Security (2010-2012) He is a Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C|CISO) and a Certified International CounterCybercrime Professional-Executive (CICP-EX), an Associate Fellow at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a Senior Fellow at the EastWest Institute (EWI), USA where he is affiliated with the Asia-Pacific programs.
